Reactors intended to carry out chemical tests for the pharmaceutical, food and environmental industries
SACOME’s R&D department continues to be attentive to new market needs with the aim of developing ingenious and innovative solutions that add value to traditional heat exchange systems. As a result of this effort, SACOME supplies a range of small-scale reactors for the Spanish subsidiary of an international group of laboratories, with a presence in 47 countries.
This client’s need consisted in the custom design and manufacturing of a series of reactors, with volumes between 100 and 1,000 ml, intended to carry out chemical tests for the pharmaceutical, food and environmental industries. These reactors are manufactured in AISI 316L stainless steel and developed to withstand high pressures and temperatures. In addition, these reactors have a flexible design, in accordance with customer requirements in terms of easy access and handling, and with adaptation of different auxiliary connections.
Thanks to the close cooperation between the laboratory’s technicians and the SACOME’s engineers, an optimal solution is achieved to allow our client to get customized equipment, instead of resorting to standard reactors from other manufacturers, which did not meet the changing needs of this client.

The importance of rheology in the design of food plants
The importance of rheology in the design of any processing plant is crucial since the sizing of many of the elements composing it is very dependent on this “resistance”, also taking special relevance with food products: heat exchangers, pipes, valves, pumps, mixers, etc.
How to design a heat exchanger
To design a heat exchanger it is necessary to have certain data, such as the process flow rate, the temperature and the physical properties of products.
