Heat exchanger intended for the continuous cooling of 5 m³/h of different volatile liquid products.
An engineering company — specialized in processes for the pharmaceutical industry — has contacted SACOME to try to resolve the following enquiry. One of its clients need to expand its production capacity, due to a new supply contract for its products, but does not have the time necessary to face the construction of a new production space in the plant. The objective of this client is to install the new equipment in the existing plant, with short delivery time.
One of the most critical equipment is the tubular heat exchanger intended for the continuous cooling of 5 m³/h of different volatile liquid products. The client needs to maintain the design of the existing tubular heat exchanger — tube-in-tube heat exchanger (with concentric tubes). But the engineering company is struggling to find a supplier capable to guarantee the new process, with the space constraints imposed.
SACOME’s technical department has proposed an original solution that allows reaching the necessary exchange rate, ensuring self-draining, without taking up useful space on the floor. SACOME has designed and manufactured a frame with 9 tubular heat exchangers of 3 meter mounted in series, installed on the ceiling and with double inclination (units inclined to each other and inclined arrangement with respect to the horizontal). With this design, SACOME has solved the problem. Therefore, SACOME is awarded the supply of the P-TF20-I heat exchangers.
