Tubular heat exchangers intended for the production of water for injection (WFI) by means of distillation
SACOME has recently supplied two tubular heat exchangers for a major pharmaceutical company located in Ireland. The main objective of our client is to produce water for injection (WFI) by means of distillation, in accordance with the specifications established in the European Pharmacopoeia (Ph. Eur.). The water for injection (WFI) is intended for the manufacturing of sterile medicinal products.
Specifically, within the process of obtaining water for injectables from drinking water, the function of these two pharmaceutical heat exchangers is the heating of the product by means of saturated steam.
For that purpose, we select a P-TFM-I heat exchanger, belonging to our Pharmaceutical Line. Therefore, we have complied with the stringent demands of our client:
Heat exchangers technical documentation
The importance of rheology in the design of food plants
The importance of rheology in the design of any processing plant is crucial since the sizing of many of the elements composing it is very dependent on this “resistance”, also taking special relevance with food products: heat exchangers, pipes, valves, pumps, mixers, etc.
How to design a heat exchanger
To design a heat exchanger it is necessary to have certain data, such as the process flow rate, the temperature and the physical properties of products.
Hairpin heat exchangers
Hairpin heat exchangers have a more efficient and economical design compared to a multiple pass heat exchanger when the process requires a temperature crossing between the cold and hot fluid.
