Paint processing requires more than temperature control. It requires a design that respects the conditions of the product and the process.
For more than 40 years, SACOME has been supplying tubular heat exchangers for paint processing, most often in the automotive sector. It is a particularly specific application, where both heating and cooling duties are typically designed around maintaining a defined temperature set point.
Paint service also brings a number of technical requirements that need to be addressed from the design stage. Materials must be low carbon grade, silicone cannot be present, paint-side connections are often specific, process velocities must be carefully controlled, and the equipment must incorporate the appropriate vents and drains.
SACOME knows this type of application in detail, and its tubular heat exchangers are designed to meet the requirements typically associated with this service. That experience is reflected not only in the construction of the equipment, but also in the reliability of the thermal design behind each solution.
A recent example is the award of a project for the supply of a tubular heat exchanger intended to maintain paint at a set point of 23 °C for one of the leading paint companies in the United Kingdom.
The solution developed by SACOME is a compact unit with a welded tubesheet and HARD corrugated inner tubes. In addition, as required in this type of service, the equipment includes the usual vents and drains needed for proper operation.
This project is another example of SACOME’s long-standing experience in the design and manufacture of tubular heat exchangers for paint processing.
