Recently, Fernando Vera, an engineer in the technical-sales department at SACOME, had the opportunity to step away from his routine and get back to basics: sharing knowledge and sparking curiosity.
During his visit to the “CEIP Reino de Murcia,” Fernando spoke with a third-grade class about what an engineer’s job entails and how engineering is present in their daily lives more than they realize. To make it more relatable, our engineer brought samples of heat exchangers, explained in simple terms what they’re used for, and, most importantly, led an interactive activity in which the students actively participated.
The most remarkable thing was seeing that, when theory connects with something real and tangible, questions arise. Many of these questions were excellent and showed a contagious curiosity. The visit turned out to be very dynamic and entertaining for everyone.
At SACOME, we believe that industry also has a role to play outside the factory: bringing technology into the classroom, inspiring career paths, and contributing to the community. That is why we continue to promote and support these types of educational and social initiatives, where sharing what we know can open new doors.
