Expansion joints for chemical industry service, with materials and inspections defined for demanding operating conditions.

Once again, SACOME has secured the supply of expansion joints for the chemical industry, delivering a total of 10 units fitted with SSO bellows in Incoloy 825.

Some of these units were manufactured from a single 1.6 mm ply, while others were designed as multi-ply bellows with three 1 mm layers, depending on the service requirements.

From the manufacturing stage, special attention was given to weld quality control. All longitudinal butt welds on the bellows were subjected to 100% radiographic inspection before forming, while the remaining lap welds were inspected by liquid penetrant testing.

This kind of supply reflects the level of control required when materials, fabrication and inspection all play a direct role in the reliability of the final component.

Reliability also starts with how each detail is manufactured and inspected.
