Condensation under vacuum, with hazardous and explosive gas classification.
SACOME is a regular partner of one of the world’s leading suppliers of vacuum systems for packaging, degassing, drying and distillation, among other applications.
The client was recently awarded a new vacuum pumping system project that required a heat exchanger capable of condensing the water vapour contained in a gas stream. The technical specification included two especially demanding conditions:
An inlet gas pressure below 0.2 bar(a)
Gas classification as hazardous fluid (Group 1) and explosive, in accordance with Directive 2014/68/EU
To meet these requirements, SACOME’s technical team designed a tubular heat exchanger from its industrial range, model I-TFM-I, with a flanged tubesheet and removable eccentric reducers, adapted to the available space limitations.
The supply also included 40 mm mineral wool insulation, clad with 0.5 mm stainless steel sheet, as well as saddle supports. A project like this leaves little room for standard solutions. Pressure level, fluid classification and installation constraints all have a direct impact on the final design.
Designed to respond where specification leaves no margin.
