Consequently, the obtainment processes are different:<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>Purified water (PW)<\/strong>. In a first pre-treatment phase, a feed water (drinking water) is processed in order to be disinfect it, remove dissolved organic matter and particles and remove hardness. After that, a final treatment is applied to reduce the microbial load, generally through reverse osmosis and subsequent application of ultraviolet light.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>Water for injection (WFI)<\/strong>. It is obtained by condensing the clean steam given by a steam generator, which in turn is fed with purified water (PW). This is a water of the highest chemical purity, perfectly sterile, since its main use is the preparation of injectable solutions.<\/p>\n<p>[\/et_pb_text][\/et_pb_column][\/et_pb_row][et_pb_row][et_pb_column type=&#8221;1_5&#8243;][\/et_pb_column][et_pb_column type=&#8221;3_5&#8243;][et_pb_image _builder_version=&#8221;3.21&#8243; src=&#8221;https:\/\/www.sacome.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/02\/insulina.png&#8221; alt=&#8221;Purified Water Loops (PW) and Water for Injection (WFI) &#8221; title_text=&#8221;Purified Water Loops (PW) and Water for Injection (WFI) &#8221; \/][\/et_pb_column][et_pb_column type=&#8221;1_5&#8243;][\/et_pb_column][\/et_pb_row][et_pb_row][et_pb_column type=&#8221;4_4&#8243;][et_pb_text _builder_version=&#8221;3.21&#8243;]<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">After these processes, these <strong>waters for pharmaceutical uses<\/strong> are sent to the <strong>distribution loop<\/strong>, PW or WFI respectively, which is made up of a <strong>storage tank<\/strong> and a <strong>distribution circuit<\/strong>. The water within the system must be in permanent movement, so that <strong>constant pressure<\/strong> must be guaranteed in the loop, regardless of the number of points of use open at any given time.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The main difference between both loops is the <strong>temperature<\/strong> at which the water is kept inside them: while the <strong>PW loop<\/strong> is kept around the <strong>ambient temperature<\/strong>, the <strong>WFI loop<\/strong> must remain among <strong>75\u00b0C and 90 \u00b0C<\/strong> to conserve the physicochemical and microbiological characteristics of the water.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">In both cases, <strong>the sanitization of the loop is always of vital importance<\/strong> to guarantee the <strong>quality of the water<\/strong>, preventing an unwanted growth of pathogenic microorganisms fare above the safe levels. This sanitization is normally carried out by means of heat input, either continuously or periodically.
