Metal expansion joints for the chemical industry<\/h2>\n

One of the most important companies in the manufacturing of chemical products<\/strong> in Spain has awarded SACOME for the design and manufacturing<\/strong> of 8 expansion joints<\/strong> of different diameters for the replacement of existing equipment already damaged.<\/p>\n

The expansion joints<\/strong> have been manufactured having one and two layers. The considered model has been our SGO<\/strong> single unrestrained metal expansion joint<\/strong> <\/a><\/span>with dimensions close to 1m diameter.<\/p>\n

The INCOLOY\u00ae 825<\/strong> alloy (UNS N08825 \/ W Nr. 2.4858) is a Nickel-Chromium alloy with additions of Molybdenum, Copper and Titanium. It is designed to provide exceptional resistance to most corrosive environments<\/strong>. The Nickel content is sufficient to resist stress corrosion cracking<\/strong> caused by the chloride ion. Nickel, together with Molybdenum and Copper, provides extraordinary resistance to reduced environments<\/strong> such as those with sulfuric and phosphoric acid contents. Molybdenum also helps to increase resistance to pitting and crevice corrosion<\/strong>. The chromium content of the INCOLOY 825 confers resistance to a wide variety of oxidizing substances such as nitric acid, nitrates and oxidizing salts. The titanium in turn, with the appropriate thermal treatment<\/strong>, enables stabilization against intergranular corrosion<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Thanks to our great variety and our long-standing expertise in the manufacturing processes for metal bellows<\/strong><\/a>, these are formed by hydraulic deformation<\/strong>, which gives them a more homogeneous distribution<\/strong> of the stresses throughout the wave profile. This ensures that this type of equipment has been working in very corrosive environments<\/strong>, for more than 30 years, absorbing different thermal expansions<\/strong> and with high life cycles in operation<\/strong>.<\/p>\n
