This <strong>bioengineering production facility<\/strong> has an approximate production capacity of 1.700 kg of <strong>insulin glargine<\/strong> per year.<\/p>\n<p>[\/et_pb_text][\/et_pb_column][et_pb_column type=&#8221;1_3&#8243;][et_pb_divider height=&#8221;60&#8243; _builder_version=&#8221;3.0.63&#8243; \/][et_pb_image src=&#8221;https:\/\/www.sacome.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/02\/configuracion-hexamerica-insulina.jpg&#8221; alt=&#8221;Insulin Processing Plant &#8221; title_text=&#8221;Hexameric Insulin Structure&#8221; align=&#8221;center&#8221; _builder_version=&#8221;3.0.63&#8243; \/][\/et_pb_column][\/et_pb_row][et_pb_row custom_padding=&#8221;8px|0px|27px|0px&#8221; _builder_version=&#8221;3.0.47&#8243; background_size=&#8221;initial&#8221; background_position=&#8221;top_left&#8221; background_repeat=&#8221;repeat&#8221;][et_pb_column type=&#8221;2_3&#8243;][et_pb_text admin_label=&#8221;Text&#8221; _builder_version=&#8221;3.0.63&#8243; background_size=&#8221;initial&#8221; background_position=&#8221;top_left&#8221; background_repeat=&#8221;repeat&#8221; background_layout=&#8221;light&#8221; text_orientation=&#8221;left&#8221; border_style=&#8221;solid&#8221;]<\/p>\n<h2>Product specifications and process<\/h2>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Different products were processed in the tubular heat exchangers, as listed below:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Product solutions.<\/li>\n<li>Protein suspensions.<\/li>\n<li>30% N-propanol.<\/li>\n<li>Regeneration solutions.<\/li>\n<li>Inputs chromatographies.<\/li>\n<li>10% N-propanol.<\/li>\n<li>Bio-waste water.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Our engineers took into consideration this product portfolio and, in close collaboration with the client, they set the different <strong>thermal properties<\/strong> (density, specific heat, thermal conductivity and viscosity) for each case. In the case of heat exchanger, the fact to comply with <a href=\"https:\/\/www.fda.gov\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">FDA<\/a> and <strong>GMP<\/strong> recommendations regarding to velocities, self-drainability, inner roughness, no dead points, etc. involves the no recommendation to use some types of exchangers, which are not able to comply with some of such as requirements, as in the case of plate heat exchangers.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">With this in mind, we recommended the client our<strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.sacome.com\/en\/pharmaceutical-multitube-heat-exchanger\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"color: #35789b;\"> P-TFM-I heat exchanger<\/span><\/a><\/strong>, specially conceived for the<strong> <a href=\"https:\/\/www.sacome.com\/en\/pharmaceutical-applications\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"color: #35789b;\">pharma applications<\/span><\/a><\/strong>. We hereafter list the main features of the proposed solution:<\/p>\n<p>[\/et_pb_text][\/et_pb_column][\/et_pb_row][et_pb_row custom_padding=&#8221;32px|0px|33px|0px&#8221; _builder_version=&#8221;3.0.47&#8243; background_size=&#8221;initial&#8221; background_position=&#8221;top_left&#8221; background_repeat=&#8221;repeat&#8221;][et_pb_column type=&#8221;1_2&#8243;][et_pb_toggle title=&#8221;Crevice-free design&#8221; _builder_version=&#8221;3.0.63&#8243;]<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.sacome.com\/en\/pharmaceutical-line-heat-exchangers\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"color: #35789b;\">SACOME range of heat exchangers for the pharma industry<\/span> <\/a>are <strong>specially designed to avoid dead zones<\/strong>, where colonies of bacteria may accumulate, avoiding then the growth of these microorganisms. The industry offers other solutions to this end, as double wall pipes configurations, but this is not a very efficient configuration from the thermal point of view, due to the <strong>thermal resistance<\/strong> provided by the intermediate chamber.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-6656 size-thumbnail\" title=\"Double tubesheet design\" src=\"https:\/\/www.sacome.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/Galeria-intercambiador-multitubular-farmaceutico-150x150.jpg\" alt=\"SACOME heat exchanger with double tubesheet design \" width=\"150\" height=\"150\" \/><\/p>\n<p>[\/et_pb_toggle][et_pb_toggle title=&#8221;Fatigue stress analysis&#8221; _builder_version=&#8221;3.0.63&#8243; background_size=&#8221;initial&#8221; background_position=&#8221;top_left&#8221; background_repeat=&#8221;repeat&#8221;]<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Our technical department analyzed the <strong>production, cleaning and sterilization<\/strong> programs of the different items, and recommended to fit <strong>expansion joint <\/strong>on the<strong> heat exchangers<\/strong>. It\u2019s connected to the positive terminal of a DC power supply, whilst the cathode is attached to the negative terminal, in such a way that the<strong> heat exchanger<\/strong> acts as the anode of the circuit.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">When the electrical circuit gets closed, an electrical current circulates from the anode (heat exchanger) to the cathode, taking place an <strong>oxidation process<\/strong> in the surface of the work-piece, so that the metal on the surface is dissolved in the electrolyte and later is deposited on the cathode surface.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">As a result of this treatment, the metal is removed from the surface of the tube, getting to smooth the microscopic surface of the product side and level the micro-peaks, thus contributing to <strong>enhance the passivation<\/strong>, make the surface <strong>easier to clean and sterilise<\/strong>, and to get better <strong>corrosion protection<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">In this project, once the <strong>heat exchangers<\/strong> were manufactured, tested and certified in our workshop, they were sent to the electropolishing facilities in Germany to be <strong>electro polished<\/strong>, where SACOME personnel attended to check in site the correct carrying out of the process.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Once the anodic polishing was over, the<strong>\u00a0heat exchangers<\/strong> were returned to our facilities, where all the tests, particularly the <strong>pneumatic and hydraulic test<\/strong>, were carried out again, in order to check the perfect condition and <strong>absence of leakages<\/strong> of the equipment previously to the delivery up to the client\u2019s facilities in Frankfurt where our <strong>tubular heat exchangers<\/strong> would be installed inside the Insulin Plant.<\/p>\n<p>[\/et_pb_text][\/et_pb_column][et_pb_column type=&#8221;1_2&#8243;][et_pb_divider height=&#8221;100&#8243; _builder_version=&#8221;3.0.63&#8243; \/][et_pb_image src=&#8221;https:\/\/www.sacome.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/02\/Principio-de-electropulido.png&#8221; alt=&#8221;In the electropolishing, also known as anodic or electrolytic polishing, the equipment is immersed in a temperature-controlled batch of electrolyte. &#8221; title_text=&#8221;Electropolishing process, also known as anodic or electrolytic polishing.&#8221; _builder_version=&#8221;3.0.63&#8243; \/][et_pb_text text_orientation=&#8221;center&#8221; _builder_version=&#8221;3.0.63&#8243; text_font_size=&#8221;12&#8243;]<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">1.
